Saturday the 26th of February the Club held its first coaches meeting for the 2011 season at the Cooma Ex-Service

The President Harry Hovasapian delivered a slide presentation the highlights of which were

 

 

The meeting lasted almost two hours with all present having some input, as an outcome it was agreed

 

All coaches present completed the Club's coaches Code of Conduct documents and NSW working with children consent form

COACH’S CODE OF CONDUCT (JUNIORS)

 

 

I (please print your full name) ____________________________________, hereby commit, to the best of my ability, to uphold the Cooma Soccer Club inc. Code of Conduct.

 

In representing myself in an honest manner and without bringing the Club or the Game into disrepute, I will endeavour to uphold the following to the best of my ability:

 

 

  1. I acknowledge and accept that young people participate for pleasure and winning is only part of the fun.

 

  1. I will never ridicule/abuse a young player for making a mistake or not performing as I would expect.

 

  1. I will be reasonable in my demands on a player’s time, energy and enthusiasm.

 

  1. I will operate within the rules and spirit of our sport and teach and encourage the players to do the same thing.

 

  1. I will ensure that the time players spend with me is a positive experience. I accept that all young people are deserving of equal attention and opportunities.

 

  1. I will avoid overplaying the talented player; accepting that the average need and deserve equal coaching and game time.

 

  1. I will ensure that equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate to the age and ability of all players.

 

  1. I will display control, respect and professionalism to all involved with the sport. This includes opponents, referees, administrators, the media, parents and spectators. I will encourage the players to do the same.

 

  1. I will show concern and exercise caution towards sick and injured players. I will follow the advice of the physician when determining whether an injured player is ready to recommence training and competition.

 

  1. I will obtain appropriate qualifications/accreditation and keep up to date with the latest coaching practices and the principals of growth and development of young people.

 

  1. I will ensure at all times that any physical contact with a young person shall be appropriate to the situation and necessary for the player’s skill development.

 

  1. I respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender ability, cultural background or religion, and I will foster team and Club spirit.

In representing myself in an honest manner and without bringing the Club or the Game into disrepute, I will endeavour to uphold the following to the best of my ability:

 

  1. I acknowledge and accept that people participate for pleasure and although winning is important it is never at all cost and will always be within the rules and the spirit of the game. I also accept the fact that we are an AMATEUR Club.

 

  1. I will never ridicule/abuse a player for making a mistake or not performing as I would expect.
